Although it was promoted as a glimpse into America's sleazy gay underworld, what made a classic of John Rechy's first novel, "City of Night," was its unshakable innocence: Through endless gay sexual encounters full of humiliation, terror and self-loathing, the novel's hustler narrator never stops listening for "a voice from a childhood in the wind."Įven the novel's modernist tics - apostrophes are omitted from contractions, words are jammed up against each other to produce adjectives such as "sugargrimy" to describe a boy's hands - contribute to the book's youthful optimism, as if salvation could come from James Joyce as easily as from a kind priest at the far end of a late-night phone call. ![]()

Unfortunately, during the editing of the series they put in the scenes they want and leave out the scenes they want. If they would heave had the same level of willingness for preparation and support for the bikes (to convince KTM this could not go wrong whatever happens) at the moment they had KTM in mind, I think KTM would have probable also supported the LWR. That why the received the support from BMW. This way the LWR just couldn't go wrong, there would always be a solution at hand, whatever happened. They had 3 support trucks (that we know of) so my guess is that at least 1 BMW-specialist was in the support crew with tons of spare parts (enough to build a complete new bike ). ![]() BMW surely had a lot of demands too before supporting the LWR, and they undoubtedly complied. ![]() The only remaining option was BMW and they didn't want to get a "no" again so they increased the preparations before the trip and most probably also the support from BMW during the trip. This month we delve into one of Agatha Christie’s darkest stories, The Pale Horse. Maybe the three women who run The Pale Horse public house, and who are rumoured to practice the ‘Dark Arts’, can provide some answers? Mark Easterbrook and his sidekick Ginger Corrigan are determined to find out. What was the killer looking for? And what had a dying woman confided to the priest on her death bed only hours earlier?
